The young teenager Laura lives in a toxic relationship with a boy her age who imposes rules and prohibitions on her. After an argument, the girl is alone and without any support from her friends, who seem to have disappeared without any trace. Due to the humiliation she has suffered, Laura walks through empty streets that reflect her interior desert. Focusing on the protagonist’s gazes and movements – only presence throughout the film – the short film by Tohé Commaret skilfully depicts and with a few words a suffering difficult to pronounce.
Largohen Dallendyshet – Deni Neli
As seen by da Anna Vullo
Landi and his younger brother Endri live with their father in the mountains of Xibër-Hane, Albania. The short film by director Deni Neli—of Albanian origins and born in Piacenza—is set in the early 1990s, during the fall of the communist regime: an extremely difficult moment for the country.
Seemingly far from political and economic turmoil, the thirteen-year-old protagonist nevertheless feels the absence of any reassuring prospect for the future. And so, like the swallows that keep the two brothers awake each night, he too prepares to leave. But for Landi, the choice to return may not be nearly as simple.

On a windy day, a park is populated by numerous figures: a couple of new parents, two young lovers, an elderly man with his dog and a man stressed by work. The wind begins to blow, awakening everyone from their own corner of peace. A whirlwind drags everything away and shuffles the cards in an unexpected way. This animated short film, with its delicate colours, rises in its simplicity, capable of touching deep chords to leave us moved at the end.
Samba Infinito – Leonardo Martinelli

Samba infinito by the Brazilian director Leonardo Martinelli is a melancholy fairytale about loss, that goes through the vibrant energy of the Rio’s Carnival. Among the city’s sparkling streets, a street sweeper clears away the remnants left by the festive crows and encounters a lost child. This particular, at times magical meeting takes him back in time, to the memories of his sister who is no longer there. With Gilberto Gil as a librarian, Samba Infinito is an unmissable explosion of colors, music, joy and melancholy that embodies the emotion of saudade.
